Privacy Policy

This policy explains how The Grid Society App Inc. (“The Grid Society,” “we,” “us”) handles your information when you use The Grid Society mobile app, website, and related services (the “Services”).

1. Information We Collect

Account information. Email address, name, username, and, if you provide it during a membership request, a social media handle and a short note about your build.

Content you add. Photos and details you upload to your garage or profile, and creator storefront content if you are an onboarded creator. Garage and vehicle photos are private to you unless a feature explicitly shares them.

Usage analytics. We use PostHog, a first-party analytics service, to understand how the app is used (screens viewed, features tapped, device type). We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).

Location. If you grant location permission, your location is used on your device only, to show and sort nearby events. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers. If you type a city or ZIP code instead, it is stored on your device and looked up with Google Maps to find its coordinates, and it is not sent to our servers.

2. How We Use Information

• Operate the Services: accounts, deals, events, giveaways, storefronts
• Review membership requests and send invitations
• Moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use
• Improve the product through first-party analytics
• Communicate with you about your account and the community

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information is shared only with service providers that run our infrastructure — Supabase (authentication, database, file storage), PostHog (analytics), Vercel (web hosting) — under agreements that limit their use of it, or when required by law. When you tap “Shop” on a deal, you visit the partner brand’s own website, which is governed by that brand’s privacy policy.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings > Profile > Delete Account, which permanently removes your account, profile, and uploaded photos from our systems.

5. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted through row-level security and least-privilege controls, and credentials are stored using industry-standard hashing.

6. Children

The Services are for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can exercise these in the app (profile editing and account deletion) or by contacting us.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email.
